Scheffler, McIlroy Headline Elite Field in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — FedExCup leader Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy (FedExCup No. 12) headline the field for the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship, which includes the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking and eight former FedExCup Champions.

The field also includes Matt Fitzpatrick (No. 2) and Chris Gotterup (No. 5) – the regular season’s only three-time winners – as well as Cameron Young (No. 3), who arrives at TPC Southwind off a breakout season, with wins at THE PLAYERS Championship and the Cadillac Championship.

Reigning FedExCup Champion Tommy Fleetwood (No. 9) begins the FedExCup Playoffs in search of his first TOUR title since lifting the FedExCup at the TOUR Championship, while Justin Rose – the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship winner – returns for his title defense at No. 24 in the FedExCup.

Gary Woodland (No. 27) also returns to the postseason, having secured his first PGA TOUR victory since 2019 at the Texas Children's Houston Open in March and will make his first appearance at TPC Southwind since 2022.

Three players also locked up spots in the field with late-season wins. Jackson Koivun (No. 70) collected his first career PGA TOUR title at the 3M Open in his third professional start to move to No. 70 in the FedExCup standings. Koivun held onto that spot over the final two weeks of the regular season to qualify for his first FedExCup Playoffs.

Michael Thorbjornsen added his first career TOUR title at the Rocket Classic, with the win moving the former Stanford standout from No. 69 to No. 38 in the FedExCup standings. On Sunday, Michael Brennan rounded out the group with a win at the Wyndham Championship, moving him from No. 105 to No. 47 and becoming the only player to move inside the top 70 with their play at the regular season finale.

To qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, players had to finish the regular season within the top 70 of the FedExCup standings, with the top 50 advancing to next week’s BMW Championship in St. Louis.

The 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship will be a 69-player field. Daniel Berger qualified at No. 60 in the FedExCup standings but did not commit to the event.
